The main section of the route from Celle to Harburg opened on 1 May 1847.

The hustle and bustle of the UK’s capital city and the sprawling countryside of Essex and East Anglia come together in one fantastic modern route for Train Simulator. London Liverpool Street became the City terminus of the route in 1872, and now sees more than 57 million passengers each year. The 70 mile route from London to Ipswich sees daily fast passenger services to and from East Anglia with slower commuter services serving the ‘banker belt’. The 19th Century London Liverpool Street is the City terminus point of the Great Eastern Main Line before the line winds through the suburbs of London and past the Olympic Park, into Essex and on to Suffolk.

The Class 321 EMU for Train Simulator is available in First Capital Connect livery and features passenger view, cab and instrument lighting, and a full four-car consist, comprising of DTCO, PMSO, TSO and DTSO passenger vehicles. Also included are scenarios specifically for the East Coast Main Line London-Peterborough route (available separately and required to play these scenarios). The design of these train sets was also considered so successful that it led to the development of the similar Class 320 and Class 322. Based on the British Rail Mk3 body shape, the Class 321 EMU was originally built for the Network Southeast sector by BREL York between 1998 and 1991.

The first electrified section between London and Leeds opened for operational trials in 1988, and was the fastest main line in the UK until the opening of High Speed 1 in 2003.The route for Train Simulator takes in the 76 mile (122 km) section of the ECML from London to Peterborough. As one of the most unique and iconic six axle heavy yard switchers, the EMD SD9 was a popular locomotive among North American railfans, despite its short working life..

Also included are scenarios specifically for the Norfolk Southern Coal District route (available separately and required to play these scenarios). The SD80MAC was also fitted with recessed red marker lights in the nose, a feature unique to Conrail locomotives and something that remained when Conrail was split up; 17 locomotives were taken on by Norfolk Southern and 13 by CSX.The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the CSX SD80MAC on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam.

Train Simulator: BR 266 Loco Add-On Built in Canada by General Motors, the BR 266 is based on the UK’s Class 66 diesel locomotive, externally resembling the UK locomotive in appearance but with a different internal control desk to accommodate for the addition of German rail systems.The BR 266 for Train Simulator is available in grey/silver livery and features SIFA driver vigilance, PZB and LZB signalling systems, along with Megafret container wagons.
